Owned by Fox Hill Farms and trained by Larry Jones, Old Fashioned displayed his talent and speed primarily as a three-year-old in 2009. He emerged as a top contender in his division and garnered attention for his impressive performances.

Old Fashioned's most notable victories came in the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes and the Grade 3 Southwest Stakes. These wins showcased his ability to compete at the graded stakes level and earned him recognition as a promising Kentucky Derby contender.
